Pajero Ball Weight Upgrade
Pajero exceed for towing.
Pajero ball weight upgrade. Currently looking at a new van. My hubbie said that the ball weight says 169kg he is feeling doubtful that the pajero will be right for us. A weight carrying towbar generally uses a flat ball mount or lug that is typically attached by two bolts. The mitsubishi pajero has a tow restriction for the ball weight of 180kgs when towing up to 3000kgs.
A weight distribution towbar often referred to as a hitch receiver is designed to accept additional equipment like a weight distributing hitch. Everything you place on or in your vehicle adds to the overall gvm fuel accessories cargo including passengers the tray body for cab chassis models and even the tow ball load applied by a boat or camper trailer. This is due to the inadequate factory fitted suspension and affects most dual axle caravan towing applications. We have found one we liked but weight is 2340.
7 years 1 month ago by drifters. The gvm is the maximum a vehicle can weigh when fully loaded. The pajero is built for comfort and is a great ride. We know we can only have a maximum of 2500 with a ball weight between 180 250 with the pajero but the caravan dealer says he can reduce the ball weight by putting tanks and battery at the back which would bring it to about 160.
The pajero sport is lighter at about 2050kg unladen tare weight and pajero is around 2255kg tare weight as it is slightly larger. Not sure what the ball weight was. The gvm is 3 030kg with a tow capacity of 3 000kg and unlike a lot of the 4wd.
